Driving
Tips |
Speed
limits are generally 55 mph to 75mph on highways. Within the city, speed
limits are 25 to 45 mph. Make
sure you follow the speed limit, even through the construction
areas, there is always a speed trap and they love getting
out-of-state drivers. Also take
note of gusty winds signs and the speed limits through those gusty winds
zones. |
|
| Roads & Road Conditions |
Currently, there is little or no
construction going on in the Gallup, NM area. If you plan on traveling to
Albuquerque, be prepared to be rerouted through town. The best advice is
to stay off of the roads at night, there can be animals on the road and it
is hard to turn around in some places because of deep gullies in the
medians of the highway. For up to date information on New Mexico road
conditions call: 1 800 432 4269 or visit their website at:

FAQ |
"What is proper
etiquette when visiting Native American Sites or Ceremonies?" -
Andre The best rule of proper etiquette is to ask a tour guide or visitor center representative. Each Pueblo may have different rules about taking pictures, where to walk/not walk, etc. Many times, you must ask permission before taking pictures or you will be asked to leave. Certain sites and ceremonies are sacred and religious. The people at the site will be more than happy to explain the rules for their specific area or event.
