Driving
Tips |
Speed
limits are generally 55 mph to 75mph on highways. Within the city, speed
limits are 25 to 45 mph. Make
sure you follow the speed limit, even through the construction
areas, there is always a speed trap and they love getting
out-of-state drivers. Also take
note of gusty winds signs and the speed limits through those gusty winds
zones. |
|
| Roads & Road Conditions |
Currently, there is little or no
construction going on in the Grants, NM area. If you plan on traveling to
Albuquerque, be prepared to be rerouted through town. The best advice is
to stay off of the roads at night, there can be animals on the road and it
is hard to turn around in some places because of deep gullies in the
medians of the highway. For up to date information on New Mexico road
conditions call: 1 800 432 4269 or visit their website at:
http://www.usroadconditions.com/nm.shtml. |

FAQ |
"What does the word
Pueblo mean? What is it's significance?" - Todd "The word "pueblo" refers to an Indian culture that is unique to the Southwest, and not to a particular tribe. New Mexico is home to 19 pueblos, two of which are located near Grants. Though they share many common elements, each pueblo has an independent government, and its own social order and religious practices. The pueblos are further distinguished by their art, jewelry, pottery, drums, carvings and weavings." From: www.grants.org/ |
