Visit the Asian Art Museum and spark your inspiration and curiosity while discovering the links between Asia and the United States with an extremely rich array of artwork. At the museum you’ll learn about the distinctive art and intellectual achievements of Asian culture. Featuring approximately 18,000 works of art and artifacts from all the major Asian countries. View masterpieces such as a seated Buddha dated 338 and a rhinocerous vessel from the Bronze Age, rare ancient sculptures from Vietnam and Thailand, and Persian tiles, jades, and calligraphies.
With its jampacked schedule of engaging weekly events, workshops and cultural celebrations, this museum has something for all ages! Events include: Mochi Pounding, Lunar New Year, Korea Day, Filipino American History Month Celebration and Divali Celebration. Workshops offered channel Asia’s long tradition of admired metalwork, woodwork, textiles, calligraphy and ceramics. These hands-on workshops range from ikebana (Japanese flower arrangement), and bamboo weaving, to calligraphy and bojagi (Korean wrapping cloths).
We recommend tickets be purchased online. Capacity is limited and due to high demand walk-ins may not be able to purchase tickets at the attraction.
