Canyons of the Ancients National Monument encompasses 174,000 acres with more than 8,300 recorded sites of well-preserved evidence of Native American cultures. Some areas have more than 100 sites per square mile! Our experienced, knowledgeable archaeologist-trained guide will guide you through the most notable Lowry Pueblo which is a partially excavated and maintained 11th-century village with easy gravel walking trail as well as Sand Canyon site which is a partially excavated 13th-century village. There will be several stopping points for you to ask questions, learn about the area, and take photos.
